A structured series of one-to-one sessions for professionals in Germany returning to paid work after parental leave, caregiving, illness, or a longer pause.
Many capable professionals step away from work for good reasons — a child, a relative who needs care, recovery from illness, or a move into Germany from abroad — and then face a job market that treats the gap as a liability. The Career Restart Consultation is our flagship engagement: a practical, human-led path back into employment that fits German hiring norms without pretending the break never happened.
Who it is for
This consultation suits people who have been out of paid work for roughly six months or longer and want a clear plan to re-enter a role that matches their training and salary history. Typical clients include parents after Elternzeit, carers who reduced hours or left a post, professionals recovering from long-term illness, and newcomers who paused work during relocation or recognition of foreign qualifications.
What you leave with
By the end of the engagement you have a written restart plan, a revised CV and Anschreiben approach tailored to German applications, a shortlist of realistic target roles, and a rehearsal of how you will speak about the break in interviews. You also know which documents, references, and timing steps still need attention before you apply.
What is included
- Intake call (30 minutes) to map your break, prior roles, and constraints
- Four working sessions of 75 minutes, in person in Münster or by video
- Written session notes and a living restart plan between meetings
- One full review of CV, Anschreiben, and LinkedIn/XING profile language
- Two mock interviews with feedback focused on the career-break narrative
What is not included
We do not place candidates with employers, negotiate offers on your behalf, or provide legal advice on employment contracts, Kündigungsschutz, or Sozialversicherung. Job search volume remains yours; we shape strategy, materials, and interview readiness.
How it runs
- Clarity — inventory skills, values, salary needs, and non-negotiables (hours, commute, childcare).
- Positioning — rewrite how the break and prior work appear on paper and in conversation.
- Market fit — select sectors and role types that are hiring for your profile in NRW and beyond.
- Practice — rehearse interviews and refine applications with live feedback.
Duration
Usually six to eight weeks from intake to final session, depending on your availability.
Location
Münster office or secure video. Hybrid schedules are common for clients outside the city.

Bring a prior CV, job titles you are considering, and any notice-period or benefit constraints.
